Marc Coppey: Integrated Recording Projects

As part of our long-term representation of cellist Marc Coppey, Knight Classical conceived and delivered two major orchestral recording initiatives, structured from the outset as integrated performance, recording, and broadcast projects. Realised with the support of a dedicated private patron, this work reflects our coordinated approach to artistic development, production leadership, and strategic career positioning.

Shostakovich: Cello Concerti

Knight Classical organised concert recordings of the Shostakovich cello concerti with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and its Music Director, Lawrence Foster.

Conceived within the wider context of Marc’s artistic trajectory, this project was structured to function simultaneously as a live performance engagement and as a recorded and broadcast document. We oversaw the audio recording for worldwide release on the audite record label, and secured live and deferred international streaming via medici.tv, ensuring that the performance entered sustained international circulation.

The French Cello

Knight Classical subsequently masterminded a recording project dedicated to French repertoire for cello and orchestra, featuring Marc as soloist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg conducted by the late John Nelson.

As with the Shostakovich initiative, we led the project from artistic conception through to recording coordination, streaming broadcast, and international label release.

Integration with Artist Management

Across both initiatives, Knight Classical operated at the intersection of artist management and production leadership. Repertoire planning, orchestral partnerships, patronage coordination, recording strategy, broadcast placement, and label collaboration were aligned within a single strategic framework.

The initiatives were conceived not only as performances or recordings, but as long-term artistic assets designed to strengthen and extend Marc Coppey’s international profile.
